Chiamulera coached the girls basketball team and taught English at The Woodlands High School. The victim met Chiamulera when Chiamulera was the coach of her basketball team. Chiamulera would communicate with the victim via text message and Snap Chat outside of school hours, and ultimately invited the victim to his apartment where he proceeded to sexually assault her. At the time of the sexual assault, the victim was 16 years old. Detective Bradley Vollmer with the Conroe Independent School District Police Department conducted a thorough investigation which corroborated the victim’s outcry of abuse, and included interviews of multiple students, faculty, and Chiamulera himself.

Prosecutor Lora Beckman stated, “It is incredibly important to prosecute offenders who we place in positions of trust and who have access to our children. Teachers and coaches are placed in positions of authority, and students look to them for guidance. We take it very seriously when a person violates and manipulates that trust by victimizing a child in our community. I appreciate the hard work by the Conroe ISD Police Department, who helped ensure that justice for our victim was done in this case.”
