Wine Women & Shoes Announces Models and Spotlight Survivor

The Breast Cancer Charities of America and the committee of Wine Women & Shoes 2017 is proud to announce that EXIT Lonestar Realty has returned as the Presenting Sponsor of Wine Women & Shoes for the third consecutive year. “Susan Mack and her team at EXIT Lonestar Realty continue to be so committed to the work that we do at The Breast Cancer Charities of America” said Erica Johnson, Founder & Executive Director. “On behalf of the patients we serve, we’re honored for their ongoing generosity and support.”

Wine Women & Shoes Houston will be hosted at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott on Thursday, September 21, 2017. The event will include a New York Style Runway Show, a “Best in Shoe” competition, wine tasting from BCCA’s National Partner CHLOE Wines, boutique shopping from numerous local boutiques, a “Key to the Closet” experience where one woman will win an over $5,000 of new designer clothes/accessories and much more!

After such a powerful response to the fashion show in 2016 featuring 20+ local breast cancer survivors, this year the runway will once again be featuring the beautiful faces of local women from 23-75 who have beat and overcome breast cancer and been impacted by the programs of The Breast Cancer Charities of America. “We are extremely excited to be able to continue the tradition of our annual event as well as featuring these amazing, strong women that are the REAL faces of being a survivor and overcoming breast cancer,” said Erica.

The Wine Women & Shoes committee has also selected Woodlands resident, Liette Ocker, as the Annual Spotlight Survivor. Liette, who recently completed her breast cancer treatments, came to know The Breast Cancer Charities of America (BCCA) after being diagnosed and searching for educational materials to help her through the journey. When she discovered the Create Wellness workbook through BCCA, she started utilizing it and came to find out that BCCA’s headquarters were in The Woodlands (a fact she didn’t know when she first started using the workbook). From there, through a mutual friend and supporter of the organization, Mindy Harmon Photography, Liette and BCCA were connected and the organization is pleased to honor and allow her to share her inspiring story this year at the event.
