Voter Awareness Council hosts reception for Township Candidates

By  |

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The first annual “meet and greet” reception for all of the candidates who filled for the upcoming November election for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors was held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 4:30 to 5:45 at The Black Walnut Café in The Woodlands. In addition to all four candidates, approximately fifty guests attended the informal come and go event.

“Our objective for this event was to provide an opportunity for everyone to meet and greet the Township candidates in an informal, non-campaign event setting” says Voter Awareness Council Vice President Amy Lecocq. “All too often election season results in the usual events without the general public having the opportunity to simply say “thank you for your willingness to serve” to the candidates. Based on the success of this enjoyable event that void has now been filled,” adds Lecocq.

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors is comprised of seven at-large positions with two-year term elections held every November. This year Position #5 with John McMullan as an unopposed candidate, Position #6 with Ann Snyder, and Position #7 with Laura Fillault and Carol Stromatt as candidates will be on the ballot. Early voting starts October 23rd, and Election Day is November 7th.
