Visit The Woodlands Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Moon Landing

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Through a partnership with Visit Houston, Visit The Woodlands has joined in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, more widely known as the Moon Landing.

To commemorate the occasion, Visit The Woodlands is hosting a movie night at Waterway Square, located at 31 Waterway Square Place on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 8:00 to 10:15 p.m. This family-friendly event is free and open to residents and visitors alike.

Featuring the movie Capture the Flag (rated PG)attendees will also see a special message from the International Space Station. Staff members from Visit The Woodlands will be onsite to answer questions, provide information on what Visit The Woodlands’ role is and to hand out giveaway items. “As members of Visit Houston and Beyond, Visit The Woodlands is excited to celebrate such a momentous occasion,” said Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands. “By commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing in simultaneous events, our joint tourism efforts have continued to spread our message of the importance of tourism in Southeast Texas destinations.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, to sit back and relax and enjoy a picnic from home, or grab a meal to-go from one of the many area restaurants along The Waterway. Please remember, glass containers are prohibited.
