Township’s Sawdust Park and Ride re-opens June 1

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township will restore partial service for The Woodlands Express from the Sawdust Park and Ride location at 701 Westridge Road beginning on Monday, June 1, 2020.

The Woodlands Township continues to lead the Houston region in transit technology. Building on the recent successful release of its mobile ticketing app, The Woodlands Township has released a “Next Bus” tracking app for The Woodlands Express commuter bus service.
The Woodlands Township will restore partial service for The Woodlands Express from the Sawdust Park and Ride location at 701 Westridge Road beginning on Monday, June 1, 2020.

Service from the Sawdust Park and Ride will include Downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center, and Greenway Plaza locations. The midday run from Texas Medical Center and Downtown to the Sawdust Park and Ride will remain in place. The complete schedule for the Sawdust Park and Ride location is available here.

Reduced service from the Research Forest Park and Ride will also continue. Sterling Ridge Park & Ride location remains temporarily closed.

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, passengers are highly encouraged to wear masks when riding. All drivers will wear face masks while on duty. Additionally, all buses will be limited to 50 percent occupancy with spare buses available to ensure plenty of capacity for all passengers for all runs. Other social distancing and enhanced disinfection protocols are also in place.

Passengers are also encouraged to download and use the mobile ticketing app to limit person-to-person contact. The app allows riders to purchase tickets on their smartphones anytime, anywhere and then display them on screen when boarding the bus. The app is available for download from both the Apple App Store and Google Play. More information about Mobile Ticketing can be found on the Township website.
