Township Boat Houses closed temporarily due to COVID-19 exposure

By  |

The Woodlands Township has closed the Riva Row Boat House and Lakes Edge Boat House temporarily due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

The facilities will be closed until further notice for cleaning and disinfecting and to provide proper notification to all who may have been in contact with the employee. The facility and program re-opening will be announced later, pending the completion of safety and sanitization procedures. Township staff regularly, numerous times a day, clean and disinfect all equipment after each and every use.

The employee worked the below shifts at the boat houses:

  • Friday, July 3, 2020: Lakes Edge Boat House 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 4, 2020: Riva Row Boat House 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 5, 2020: Lakes Edge Boat House 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Township staff members undergo daily temperature screenings upon reporting to work along with being asked a variety of questions regarding possible coronavirus exposure. The employee who tested positive was screened each day and did not have an elevated temperature.
