The Woodlands Township launches search for next Fire Chief

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – The Woodlands Township has launched a search for its next Fire Chief to replace Chief Alan Benson who is retiring on May 2, 2019 after leading the Fire Department for 14 years. The search for a new Fire Chief has been initiated and is expected to take four to six months to complete.

In the interim, Deputy Chief Doug Adams will serve as acting Fire Chief. Chief Adams has served the Fire Department as Deputy Chief of Support Services since February 2017. He joined the department in May 1996 and has served as a Lieutenant for 14 years and Battalion Chief for three years. Chief Adams has a Bachelor’s of Science in Emergency Administration and Planning from the University of North Texas. He is a Licensed Paramedic, and Chairman of The Woodlands Firefighters’ Retirement System. 

The Woodlands Fire Department has an excellent team of Deputy Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs and professional firefighters who will continue to provide outstanding fire and life safety services to the residents of The Woodlands while maintaining the highest level of certification in the industry.
