The Pavilion Ranked No. 3 Outdoor Amphitheater in the World for 2018

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is now ranked third in the top 100 amphitheaters in the world based on the number of tickets sold so far in 2018, according to Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication. The Pavilion’s ticket sales have totaled 467,620 for concerts between November 23, 2017 and November 21, 2018.

“The Pavilion had an incredible 29th season of providing world-class entertainment to The Woodlands and beyond,” said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “We are fortunate to work with our dedicated partner Live Nation, the No. 1 concert promoter in the world, and for our supportive community and world-class staff. We are looking forward to an ever better season in 2019 as we celebrate our 30th season.”

The Pollstar report is reflective this year’s sold-out events including Foo Fighters, Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews Band, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Chris Brown, Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch, Imagine Dragons, Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town, Godsmack and Shinedown, Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling, Luke Bryan, and Ozzy Osbourne.

In addition to its lineup of contemporary entertainment in 2018, The Pavilion presented a very successful performing arts season, with eight Houston Symphony concerts, performances by Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, and the Texas Music Festival Orchestra in addition to several educational outreach programs.

Other venues recognized on Pollstar magazine’s list include Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Noblesville, IN at No. 1, BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ at No. 2, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO at No. 4 and Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA at No 5. Other Texas venues on the list include Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas at No. 13,  Austin360 Amphitheater in Austin at No. 30, Toyota Music Factory in  Irving at No. 33 and Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels at No. 67.
