Thanksgiving Traffic & Road Closures

Due to the multiple race courses and activities for the GE Run Thru The Woods held on Thanksgiving Day, many roads will be closed on the morning of Thursday, November 24, 2016.

Race Course and Times

GE Run Thru The Woods will include a Kids 1 mile course, a 3 Mile course, and a 5 mile course that all start at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion:

  • Kids 1 mile course starts at 7:45am: Starts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, east on Lake Robbins, north on Six Pines Drive, east on Lake Woodlands, turnaround, west on Lake Woodlands, south on Six Pines Drive, finish in Market Street.

  • 3 mile course starts at 8:25am: Starts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, east on Lake Robbins, south on Six Pines Drive, west on Woodlands Pkwy, turnaround, east on Woodlands Pkwy, turnaround, west on Woodlands Pkwy, north on Six Pines Drive, finish in Market Street.

  • 5 mile course starts at 8:25am: Starts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, east on Lake Robbins, north on Six Pines Drive, east on Lake Woodlands, turnaround, west on Lake Woodlands, north on Lakeside Blvd, west on Technology Forest Blvd, turnaround, east on Technology Forest Blvd, south on Lakeside Blvd, east on Lake Woodlands, south on Six Pines Drive, finish in Market Street.

  • Award Ceremony will be held in Market Street Central Park

Thanksgiving Road Closures

  • 4:30 – 11am: Lake Robbins between Six Pines and Grogans Mill closed
  • 5:15 – 10am: Six Pines between Lake Woodlands and Timberloch closed
  • 7am – 10am: Lake Woodlands east and west bound between Pinecroft and Lakeside Blvd closed. One lane of traffic open east bound on Lake Woodlands from Lakeside Blvd to Grogans Mill
  • 7am – 10am: Timberloch between Grogans Mill and I-45 feeder closed.
  • 7am – 10am: Lakeside Blvd closed between Lake Woodlands and Research Forest
  • 7am – 10am: Technology Forest Drive closed between Lakeside BLVD and New Trails
