Sheriff Investigates Homicide at Woodhollow Drive
On Friday, June 19, 2020, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an accidental shooting in the 10320 block of Woodhollow Drive, Conroe, Texas. Upon arrival at 6:50 pm, deputies met with Hector Cantu who advised his girlfriend accidentally shot herself while cleaning a friend’s rifle.
During the investigation, Cantu provided several different conflicting stories of what happened. Due to the inconsistencies with the evidence on scene and the conflicting accounts provided by Hector Cantu, he was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder and Tampering with Evidence. MCTXSheriff Detectives identified the victim as 20 year old Miranda Freshwater.
This is still an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
