On January 25, Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) and the Conroe Independent School District (CISD) will kick off four weekends of scientific discovery with the 29th Annual SCI://TECH Exposition themed Where STEM Gets Its Roots. SCI://TECH is a collaboration between Education for Tomorrow Alliance, Conroe ISD, and area private schools that engages 5,000 K-12 students in 13 science, technology, engineering, and math activities over four weekends with the support of community volunteers.

SCI://TECH events take place throughout Montgomery County from January 25 to February 16.

On January 25, Lone Star College – Montgomery will host the Anadarko Senior High Science Bowl and the Private School Science Fair.

On February 1, the Chevron Phillips Chemical Senior High and Entergy Junior High Science Fairs will take place at the Lone Star Convention Center.

With nearly 1,770 students registered, SCI://TECH offers the largest science fair in Texas, and hundreds of volunteer judges are still needed for 7:45 am, 9:30 am, and 2:00 pm shifts. Volunteers can register online at www.efta-us.org/volunteer.

On February 2, EfTA and CISD will present SCI://TECH Expo Day, a day of family-friendly, free events at the Lone Star Convention Center. The Huntsman Elementary Science Festival is a highlight of the Expo which engages students in grades K – fourth in hands-on science experiments. Thousands of visitors are expected to participate in the festival, as well as Math Bowl, forensics and robotics demonstrations, the PBK SciMatheLon, and Sci.Story, a digital storytelling competition. Visitors are welcome to come to explore the scientific world from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
