Quadvest Sponsors Summit on Water Supply in Montgomery County

By  |

CONROE, TX— Quadvest, locally-owned and operated utility provider and developer, will be the presenting sponsor at the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce hosted conference “Are We Really Out of Water? A Summit on the Future of Groundwater in Montgomery County” on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Waterpoint Premier Lakeside Venue. The summit features an impressive lineup of water and policy experts including Texas House District 16 Representative Will Metcalf, Executive Director of the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts Sarah Schlessinger, Geoscientist Mike Thornhill, Engineer Bob Harden, County-Appointed Seat on the Lone Star Groundwater Board Webb Melder, and Quadvest President Simon Sequeira.

The summit will take on the tough topic of groundwater in Montgomery County and how it affects each and every Montgomery County citizen. The debate about the future of our water supply has been raging for months, and speakers will provide details about what the future holds, and how local citizens can get involved. The lineup is highlighted by Representative Will Metcalf, who was instrumental in the passage of HB 1982, signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott, allowing citizens to elect officials to the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District for the first time in history. The board, which was previously led by appointed officials as opposed to elected officials, controls the pricing and usage of groundwater in Montgomery County.
