Philip Sweger joins TWCA as first ever Director of Fine Arts

THE WOODLANDS, TX – On April 30, 2020, The Woodlands Christian Academy announced Philip Sweger would take on the new role of Director of Fine Arts and Band Director in Fall 2020. Sweger has been in education for 16 years and most recently served as the Director of Performing Arts at Houston Christian High School.

At Woodlands Christian, Sweger will provide vision, leadership, alignment and oversight of all fine arts instruction for PK4 – 12th grade as well as direct the band program.

When asked the reason for the new position, Head of School, Julie Ambler, said, “One of our priorities has been to put more focus on our fine arts programs to support our very talented and creative students and faculty. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Sweger, who will help us build a more robust department, as we continue to challenge our students to reach their highest potential – spiritually, academically, physically and socially.”

According to Sweger, “The arts allow us the ability to use our God-given gift of creativity to bring joy to Him and to those around us. Having the ability to communicate through music and art is a gift that transcends the ages. I am excited to join a community committed to excellence and growth and one that recognizes the value of the arts.”
