THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township will co-host Water Safety for Kids Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Branch Crossing YMCA, 8100 Ashlane Way. Parents are invited to bring their children for a fun afternoon of learning and water safety activities. The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in conjunction with The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™.

The program will include a 30-minute swimming lesson for kids ages 3 to 12, along with learning stations that include CPR awareness, life jacket sizing and safety, water watcher tag and backyard pools safety. Josh the Otter will also make an appearance to provide water safety information alongside Township Aquatics. Refreshments and giveaways will be provided.

The event is the first in a series, as part of the new S.P.L.A.S.H. program—Swim, Play, Learn and Stay Healthy. The Woodlands Township has partnered with Montgomery County Hospital District, the YMCA and Texas Children’s Hospital to launch the initiative, which focuses on drowning prevention and the steps that every family can take to ensure water safety.
