MCDAO statement on Marc Davenport child sexual abuse allegations

By  |

On Tuesday, February 20, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has released the following statement:

“Allegations of child sexual abuse against local political advisor Marc Davenport have been reported by local media outlets in the last few days. In an effort to determine where the alleged incidents occurred, our office conducted an initial inquiry to ensure the complainant’s statements are relayed to the proper law enforcement agency in the appropriate jurisdiction. Based on the jurisdictional information obtained at this point, our office contacted Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg to assist in facilitating the Houston Police Department (HPD) Sex Crimes Unit’s involvement in this matter. We are confident that HPD will take the appropriate steps in Harris County to determine if this case can proceed despite the time that has elapsed.”
