Market Street Tree Lighting cancelled due to Renovation

By  |

The holidays are right around the corner! Communities throughout Montgomery County are planning their traditional holiday events and festivities, but with a few changes this season.

Market Street announced there will not be an official “Market Street in Lights” tree lighting event due to restricted access to Central Park, but guests can still enjoy the soaring, 70-foot Christmas tree with its synchronized twinkling lights and holiday music.

“With an exciting renovation underway here at Market Street, we wanted to be sure and let our guests know what to expect during the holidays,” said Marketing Director Noemi Gonzalez. “We will have a few changes to the calendar this year, but Market Street will still be a wonderful place to gather with family and friends and enjoy the season.”

More than 25,000 multi-colored lights will still adorn the tree, which will perform a synchronized light show every hour on the half hour from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. beginning on Friday, November 16. The presentation will continue nightly throughout the holiday season.

Market Street will still host the “Smile with Santa” photo opportunity starting November 16, Twelve Days of Christmas activities and performances starting December 1, and the Grand Chanukah Celebration on December 2.
