Kids Running For Kids in The Woodlands

By  |

Kids Running for Kids, a community-wide initiative that promotes education, physical fitness and community outreach in our youth, held its annual run to raise funds for Conroe Independent School District’s Read for a Better Life on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

The 2017 Kids Running for Kids run started at 7:30 a.m. at Town Green Park in The Woodlands, Texas and included a one mile race up and town Lake Robbins Drive. On race day participants were also encouraged to bring a book to donate to benefit Conroe ISD schools.

Attendees and the community enjoyed festivities and family friendly activities in Town Green Park including arts and crafts, a kid zone, live music, and interact with their favorite characters.

Kids Running for Kids’ goal to become a source of inspiration across communities and to equip youth with a strong foundation for learning and being healthy. K – 8th graders made a difference by running the race by which all proceeds will go to support CISD’s initiative, Read for a Better Life.  Read for a Better Life is a call to action for parents, guardians, and volunteers to cultivate a culture of reading and learning among students of all ages. The goal is to read aloud to students for at least 30 minutes a day. For more information visit readaloud.conroeisd.net.
