Join The Woodlands Township for the Annual Earth Day GreenUp

THE WOODLANDS, TX – For the ninth consecutive year, The Woodlands community will join together to remove litter at Earth Day GreenUp on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Neighborhoods, clubs, Scouts, church groups, schools, families and individuals are invited to join in the cleanup effort that targets litter on pathways, parks, waterways and natural areas. The Township’s annual Earth Day GreenUp celebration will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive, in The Woodlands 77381.

Pre-registration for Earth Day GreenUp ends Monday, March 11, 2019. A limited number of trash grabbers will be available for groups that pre-register. Walk-up registration is also welcome the morning of the event, starting at 8:00 a.m. Check the website for a list of park check-in locations – there’s one in each village. All participants will receive disposable gloves, trash bags and instructions. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves to reduce waste.

Details for Saturday, March 23, 2019 include:

  • Check-in at a designated park: 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. — walk-ups welcome
  • Cleanup: between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
  • Celebrate at Northshore Park: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The whole community is invited to the post pick-up celebration from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive in The Woodlands 77381. Activities will include free face painting, games and a concert. Pick-up participants will receive a free pizza lunch and an event T-shirt while supplies last.
