By  |

HOUSTON, TX — The Howard Hughes Corporation is pleased to announce that it has been granted the distinguished honor of a Gold Award from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for its Houston-area community Bridgeland, Texas’ and Houston’s top-selling master planned community, taking home the prestigious recognition in the Best Landscape of a Community category for Parkland Village. In addition to the Gold Award, Bridgeland and its fellow The Howard Hughes Corporation communities, The Woodlands and The Woodlands Hills earned several Silver Awards for various categories. The awards were presented at the NAHB conference awards ceremony held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, January 21.

The National Association of Home Builders pays tribute each year to standout developers, homebuilders and communities in North America who exemplify superior design, marketing and sales achievements that make them leaders in their fields. Both Bridgeland, The Woodlands and The Woodlands Hills were nominated in several key categories, a sign of their continued excellence among Greater Houston master planned communities. The Howard Hughes Corporation took home one of the night’s most coveted prizes, the Gold Award for Best Master Planned Community for its Las Vegas-based, 22,500-acre Summerlin community.

Also at the 2020 awards gala, Bridgeland, the premier master planned community in Houston, picked up Silver Awards for Best Lifestyle Director of the Year for Rachel Johnson and Best Community Amenity for its acclaimed Dragonfly Park.

The Woodlands Hills, an award-winning master planned community also in the portfolio of The Howard Hughes Corporation, won a Silver Award for Best Landscape of a Community and Building Industry/Community Spirit Award for Operation Finally Home. The Woodlands, one of the most successful master planned communities in the nation, won Silver Awards for Best Digital Marketing Campaign and Best Website for a Community. All three developments earned a Silver Award for Best Realtor/Broker Program and The Howard Hughes Corporation’s Kim Phillips, Vice President of Marketing, earned a Silver Award in the Marketing Professional of the Year category.

The highly coveted Gold Award for Best Landscape of a Community highlights Bridgeland’s continued run of success at the national level. The overall concept and theme of the new village is based on the idea of living within a park with design elements inspired by Prairie School Architecture and linear park systems inspired by the Emerald Necklace park system in Boston. All neighborhoods have been named after Texas state parks, and the street names represent historical information, points of interest, and flora and fauna found within these parks.
