Children can create mosaic heart tiles that will go on permanent display at The Woodlands Children’s Museum during the museum’s Heart Tile Workshops this February.

Workshops are available at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., and noon and 1:00 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 15 and 22. During each 45-minute session, participants will create a mosaic heart tile that will be permanently displayed at the museum. They also can design a small heart to take home.

Each workshop is $45, which includes admission to the museum. Pre-registration and payment are required. Online registration is available at woodlandschildrensmuseum.org/product/heart-tile-workshop, or families can call 281-465-0955.

Workshop proceeds support the museum, which is a nonprofit organization.

“Since we introduced these workshops, we’ve found it has been very meaningful to families to see creations permanently displayed in the museum,” Executive Director Angela Colton said. “It also has meant a lot to them to know that by supporting the museum, they are making a positive difference in their community. Every day we’re open, the museum helps young visitors explore, play, stretch their imaginations and create meaningful memories.”

The heart tile workshops provide an opportunity for children and their parents to engage together to create a lasting piece of art. The sessions are open to all ages.

All activities will take place at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. The Woodlands Children’s Museum is recommended for ages 7 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded out of a desire to meet the community’s proven need for a positive environment where children and their families can learn, play and make special memories throughout the year. At the museum, fun and learning go hand in hand, whether children are creating art, singing along to a musical performance or conducting a science experiment. The museum also has made it a priority to bring children multi-ethnic and multicultural experiences that celebrate cultural and global differences and strengthen common bonds. Programs frequently are delivered in partnership with other nonprofit organizations, always with the goal of making a positive difference in the life of a child. For more information, visit woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or call 281-465-0955.
