Freezing Rain, Drizzle possible on New Year’s Eve

Today the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management shared that “At this time no hazardous weather is expected until Sunday, when a strong cold front is expected to arrive.”

The National Weather Service predicts a 20% chance of rain Friday and Saturday and a 30% chance of rain on Sunday and Monday. Temperature lows in the 30’s is expected on Sunday, New Year’s Eve and to drop into 20’s during the night on Monday, New Year’s Day.

This forecast could bring a possibility of freezing rain or freezing drizzle on New Year’s Eve and on New Year’s Day north of a Somerville to Cleveland line which could cause impacts to travel.
