IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash
[April 20, 2024] The IRONKIDS Texas Fun Run and Doggie Dash offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Running clubs welcome! Each athlete receives a goodie bag with a race bib, finisher shirt, medal, and the pride of calling themselves an IRONKID! Village booths/activities begin at 8:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies and warm-up at 9:30 a.m.
- Half mile (ages 3-8 years) or Mile (ages 5-17 years)
- Toddler Dot Trot • 80 ft. (independent walkers, ages 1-3 years)
- Diaper Dash • 26.2 ft. (independent crawlers, under 2 years of age)
The Doggie Dash follows the children’s races and begins at approximately 11:15 a.m. During the Doggie Dash, each leashed, vaccinated dog (age 6 months +) and their handler (age 12 and over) have to option to compete in two courses. Their “Doggie Bag” features a dog’s race bib and bandana. When the dash is done, competitors earn a finisher dog tag. We ask that all dogs be socialized and comfortable with being around crowds and other dogs-big or small. This event is for fun and participants should distance themselves accordingly for safety during the dash.
