EfTA Announces 2019 SCI://TECH Poster Competition Winner

CONROE, TX – Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) selected the artwork of Cathy Zhang, an eleventh grader at The John Cooper School, as the winner of the 2019 SCI://TECH Wright’s Printing Poster Competition.

Zhang’s original artwork was selected from more than 60 entries from area junior and senior high students by public vote for her depiction of the theme, “Where STEM Gets its Roots.”As the winner, Zhang will receive a $250 Student Achievement Award from EfTA, and her winning design will appear on all promotional posters, t-shirts, and collectible mugs for the 29th Annual SCI://TECH Exposition.

SCI://TECH is a collaboration between EfTA, Conroe Independent School District, The John Cooper School, and other area private schools that encourages hands-on scientific exploration to more than 5,000 K-12 students each year. SCI://TECH’s 13 science, technology, engineering, and math competitions and events will occur over four weekends beginning January 25 at Lone Star College-Montgomery and The Lone Star Convention Center. Highlights include the Chevron Phillips Chemical Senior High and the Entergy Junior High Science Fairs on February 1 and the Huntsman Elementary Science Festival, which is free and open to the public, on February 2.
