Dr. Ed Robb Honored with 2019 Good Scout Award

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – The 2019 Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America Business and Community Leadership Dinner to benefit the Friends of Scouting was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at The Woodlands Country Club – Palmer Course.

Dr. Ed Robb, Senior Pastor of The Woodlands United Methodist Church was honored with the 2019 Good Scout Award. Dr. Robb and his family has been residents of The Woodlands since 1978 and he is the founding pastor of The Woodlands United Methodist Church.

Dr. Robb is also noted for his service to the community. He has served on the boards of the South County YMCA, Interfaith of The Woodlands and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. He is the past chairman of the Town Center Improvement District and The Woodlands Township. In addition, Dr. Robb currently serves on the Houston Methodist Hospital board.

The Tall Timbers District encompasses scouting units in Conroe Independent School District (south of the San Jacinto River) which serves The Woodlands, Oak Ridge, and Shenandoah. The Tall Timbers District is located in the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The mission of the Tall Timbers District is to provide leadership and vision to its units through training, program support, membership growth opportunities, and recognition of success in leading youth to lifelong values, service, and achievement. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
