THE WOODLANDS, TX – The John Cooper School Fine Arts Department is proud to present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This production was slated to take place on April 17, but due to the current school closures, students were not able to perform live. Instead, special permission by the author was given to perform the show for a virtual audience on April 30 at 7 p.m.

Show Synopsis: Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

The cast for the show features students in grades 9-12 including Mitchell Barton, Alejandro Canavati, Alexis Eckerson, Antonio Evans, Kaitlin Hinch, Lucienne Moran, Lemah Othman, Cameron Reed, Preston Rowley, Jay Suresh, Sebastian Vaughn, Hannah Weinman and Gaia Wilkinson. “The students have worked very hard on this production and I am very proud of their flexibility and adaptability to this online platform,” said Upper School Theatre Director Ashley Cooper.

The John Cooper School Upper School production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time will premier virtually on April 30 at 7 p.m. Please note that the storyline involves a few elements that may not be suitable for children under 13.
