Share your background. What originally brought you to The Woodlands?

“I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, attended The Ohio State University and I began my career at British Airways in 1977 in Chicago, Illinois. During my second posting to Chicago I met my wife Sarah and we were married in 1985. After the wedding, we relocated to New York City where our daughter Katelin was born in 1988. British Airways transferred us to Texas in 1989. I retired from BA in 2010.”

How do you contribute, give back and/or make a difference in our community?

“Sarah and I have worked and contributed to a host of organizations during our 27 years here, The Woodlands Christian Academy, Fellowship of the Woodlands, The Children’s Assessment Center, Emergency Ministries, Love Fosters Hope, WoodsEdge Community Church, The Houston Golf Association, The First Tee, and many more.”

Why do you enjoy living (and working) in The Woodlands?

“The Woodlands is a great place to raise your family. It felt like home almost immediately because everyone is so open and friendly. After living predominantly in the Midwest and on the East Coast, Texas is a tremendous value proposition as well. The Woodlands just seems to get better and better with age, with the exception of the traffic issues and the expanded clear cutting of trees that come from the explosive growth we have experienced.”

How has The Woodlands helped and affected you?

“The Woodlands is our home. We chose to live here and raise our family.”

What fuels your fire to run for The Woodlands Townships Board of Directors?

“The 2015 Bond issue was the catalyst for my run for the Township Board. I could not believe that our County leaders would actually propose an extension to Woodlands Parkway that would clearly fail our road system west of Kuykendahl Road. After 83% of Woodlands residents voted to reject the bond issue, I thought the issue would be dead. Unfortunately, the following day County officials said “we will build it anyway”. That was a wakeup call for me as I realized that we needed leadership on our Township Board that would speak for the residents first over the special interest groups and developer interests.”

Tell us about your business (or organization, group, event, product, etc).

“I founded my own consulting firm in 2011, and I am currently representing the foreign flag air carriers at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on the Mickey Leland International Terminal Project (ITRIP). The project will consist of a complete teardown and rebuild of Terminal D and the current budge for the project is $1.6 billion.”

What are 5 things that you want voters to know about you (personal, points, views, experience, etc)?

“I am candid, principled, ethical, thoughtful, and will stand up for what is right even if it is unpopular.”

What makes you unique to other candidates and your competitors?

“I am the only candidate in the race with a combination of corporate and small business experience. As a long time resident of The Woodlands I think that I bring a unique perspective to balancing the needs of both the residents and the business community. I am a proven leader, listener and problem solver, traits that will be crucial to successfully navigating the difficult issues facing our community.”

Where do you see yourself (personally and/or your business) in the near future? (1 year, 5 years, and beyond?)

“Sarah and I will continue to live here for the foreseeable future. The Woodlands is our home.”

Would you like to share any other words or messages to The Woodlands community?

“I want to thank everyone who has already cast their vote in this election, and to encourage those that haven’t to vote on November 8th. This is a great community and we need people who are informed and committed to our future.”
