The Masters of Ceremonies of the event were Mark Mitchell (President, Lake Houston Area EDP) and Kelly Violette (Executive Director, Tomball EDC). The Lone Star College SBDC celebrated and recognized small businesses in the Lone Star College area that were nominated for our annual small business of the year awards. Over 100 small businesses were nominated. At the luncheon, finalists were recognized and winners will be announced in the following categories: Women-owned, Minority-owned, Veteran-owned, Family-owned, Young Entrepreneur, and Small Business Owner of the year.

Small Business of the Year Awards

Hello Woodlands sponsored and presented the Small Business Owner Award to the 2019 category winner, The Young Learners.

The Lone Star College SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network serving 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The SBDC program is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The SBDC’s mission is to help businesses become established, grow, survive and succeed by providing professional management advising and training, resulting in a positive economic impact for north Harris and Montgomery Counties.
