3 Days, 225 Artists, and 1 Amazing Art Festival in The Woodlands

By  |

Hundreds of artists, musicians, and performers came from near and far to participate in The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival on Friday, April 7th through Sunday, April 9th, 2017.

The festival is ranked one of the top five fine arts festivals in the nation and carefully selected the 225 extraordinary artists that represented a broad range of styles and mediums with tents lining The Woodlands Waterway. HelloWoodlands.com’s Jenny Kelly and Holly Boss from WoodlandsHits.com interviewed Mark Lewanski, an artist from Portland, Michigan known for his woven glass landscapes, in his booth during the festival:

On the first evening (Friday) of the festival, the Art Dash Party took place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center starting at 7 p.m. The 60-Second Art Dash has become one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year that includes an energizing race for participants’ favorite art pieces among the hundreds of works of art donated by VIP Festival Artists. View videos and photos from the Art Dash Party here.

The festival also featured workshops for all ages, culinary demonstrations, live music performances, craft beer tents and more. Visitors enjoyed music and entertainment on three performance stages throughout the Festival weekend. A fourth stage will showcase the Art of Food, highlighting local celebrity chefs who demonstrate their culinary skills and offer delicious food tastings.

Artopoly at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival was a gathering place for the community to enjoy and participate in hands-on, interactive art projects and demonstrations that encourage festival patrons of all ages to discover art in all its forms. Artopoly showcased the year-round community and education outreach programs of The Woodlands Arts Council – Because Art Matters, our Charity Partners and other non-profits.
