Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park Open Limited Hours for Summer

By  |

The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, located at 6464 Creekside Forest Drive across from The Aquatic Center at Rob Fleming Park, is the latest facility addition to The Woodlands Township. The facility ties together three great Township amenities in Creekside Park — The Aquatic Center at Rob Fleming Park, The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park and now The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park.

This summer, The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park is open for limited hours during programs and events while renovations are in progress. Check out the 2017 Summer Action Guide, www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/actionguide, to review the summer offerings at this location. More details on summer offerings will be available in The Woodlands Community Magazine June issue. Future programs are set to include, but are not limited to, fitness, camps, enrichment, humanities, sports, special events, outdoor education, rentals and more.

Meet the recreation staff, tour the building, and learn about upcoming programs during The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park Open House and Movies Series. Friday, June 2, 2017, is Giant Game Day featuring The Jungle Book, and Friday, June 16, 2017, is the Tree House Scavenger Hunt and Open House featuring Pete’s Dragon. Games and activities are offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m., June 2, 2017, and June 16, 2017. Movies start at dusk in the amphitheater.

In October 2016, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors authorized the utilization of the Parks and Recreation Capital Projects Fund to pay for property acquisition costs of $4.5 million for the facility formerly known as the YMCA at Creekside Park. During the January 25, 2017, Township board meeting, the Board of Directors approved the final Purchase and Sale Agreement with the YMCA of the Greater Houston Area for the purchase of the tracts of land located in Harris County, Texas, containing the building and other structures.
