A Tour of the Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital

By  |

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital will open on July 1, becoming the eighth hospital in a system that has served the Houston area for nearly 100 years.

The 470,000 square-foot hospital will open with 187 beds and is master-planned for 400 beds.

“Houston Methodist has deep roots in the region and it is an honor to now serve the communities of The Woodlands and Montgomery County,” said Marc Boom, M.D., president and chief executive officer of Houston Methodist. “We are excited to bring our long history of leading medicine and outstanding patient care to the residents of The Woodlands.”

On Monday, June 5, the Hello Woodlands team had the opportunity to take a tour of the facility located on the southeast corner of I-45 and Hwy 242. The $328 million campus offers The Woodlands and Montgomery County communities a full-service, acute care hospital with many of the same services as Houston Methodist’s flagship hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital will offer comprehensive medical care including cancer, women’s and neurological services. The hospital features 28 emergency beds, 26 labor and delivery beds, 25 ICU beds, 10 operating rooms and a diagnostic imaging center, including the latest generation CT scanner, a 384-slice CT.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital will also provide dedicated personnel and resources for international patients.

In February, Houston Methodist The Woodlands broke ground on the campus’ second medical office building and a parking garage, both expected to open in 2018.
