Commit For Life at the Conroe VA OutPatient Clinic on Friday

By  |

The Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic invites the community to help save lives and is hosting a blood drive with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on Friday, October 6.

Following Hurricane Harvey and the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas, many individuals are seeking opportunities to help – and giving blood is an act that can help someone in need at any time.

About 1,000 donations a day are required in the Texas Gulf Coast region to meet the ongoing needs of patients undergoing cancer treatment, having surgeries, being treated for anemia and much more. When the local blood supply is strong, The Blood Center may meet local needs and be as prepared as possible to assist other areas in times of disaster.

Schedule your donation online or call 1(888) 482-5663.

The blood drive will be held at the Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic located at 800 Riverwood Ct., Conroe, Texas 77304 on Friday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is the primary supplier of blood components to more than 170 hospitals and health care facilities in a 26-county Texas Gulf Coast region. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have their parents’ consent also may donate. The donation process is simple, taking only about one hour. Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is an independent, nonprofit blood center that is not affiliated with the American Red Cross.
